Hawk Watching at Port Stanley - bald eagles yes Oct 11 2010
Day 2 we got up before sunrise and took some shots. Jen was being her creative self when she decided we had to catch the sun as it was rising. Lots of laughter and some great shots (you will see them later). We then went on to the hawk watch at Port Stanley and enjoyed being with Colin and the gang. Many birds were seen but the highlight was the bald eagles. We left the watch at 5:30 and went to a know eagle nest. We were not disappointed when Jen found a juvenile osprey who quickly left when the bald eagle came in. WOWWWWWWWWWWWW what a day.
Beautiful young buck at the hawk watch in the corn fields.
Male Harrier
Another bald eagle (sorry Lee)
Peregrine Falcons (2 that day)
Red Shoulder Hawks 20+ that day
Juv Bald Eagle at the hawk - too many to count
Juv Osprey sitting in the Bald Eagle nest area. He quickly flew when the bald eagle came in for the evening crying that familiar osprey call.
Juv Bald Eagle coming in for the night - see him sitting on the dead branch on the last shot.
