Went to see this barred owl and it was a beauty. He was sitting on a branch eating a snake. The last shot is after visiting my grandchildren - sunset on Halls Road.

Cooper hawk Juv

Not a great shot but it was so cool to see the cooper going for the squirrel. By the way the squirrel just sat and watched him. he is not a very good hunter yet.

Northern Harrier

Turkey Vulture

A young sparrow with no tail.

Today it was great to see some hawks flying over. Many were high but it was wonderful. A Juv Cooper Hawk gave Lee and I some fun - he was chasing the squirrels and going from tree to tree. A couple shots from today

Over a thousand + Sandhill Cranes - Juv and Adult Oct 17 2009

Double click to enlarge the photos.

Today Carol and I went for a drive to hopefully see some Sandhill Cranes. Little did we realize we would see appr. 1500 of them. Some were close to the road and some by a large barn. The owner of the barn was standing outside so I asked if I could go and see them up closer. He joined us with his binoculars. Very nice and very cool day. Other sightings, kestrel, red tail, donkey, barn cats, and a horse jumping show.
