Owlete, Warbler, Great Crested Flycatcher and More May 11, 2009

Owlete

Male Cape May Warbler

Female Cape May Warbler

Great Crested Flycatcher

Baltimore Oriole

Working a late shift today I went with Karen to Thicksons Wood and then after work stopped in at Rosetta for a walk with Carol.
At Thicksons Woods there was a lot of excitement with the great horned owlet. He was on the branch so I had my first real look at him, as well as I heard him crying and his mama talking to him. Some scary moments as he climbed up the branch and flew to the another branch and lost his grip and was hanging upside down. Mom Great Horned Owl couldn't help as she was busy chasing off a cooper hawk. It was a very scary and exciting 5 minutes.
The rest of the walk was lovely with beautiful Cape May warblers, Baltimore Orioles, and at Rosetta a Great Crested Flycatcher. Enjoy
