Thank you to Dan and Susan for a wonderful Day. Thanks to Stephen and Judy for their expertise. Thanks Janice for another wonderful adventure. Highlight was the 460 Evening Grossbeaks. Lighting was tough but it was easy on the eyes looking at these beautiful birds.

Bird Count in the Karwarthas - Highlights Dec 28, 2010

A wonderful day and some amazing birds and scenery.


Judy and Stepehn leaders of the Whiskey Jacks team. Janice and I were so lucky to be with them. 27 species and Total Birds on the Day was 1540.

Red Tailed Hawk - take off Dec 26, 2010

Drove my mom home today after a wonderful family Christmas. On the way home saw many rough legged hawks, red tailed hawks, turkeys, downy woodpeckers and more. Highlight was the coyote walking across the field in the snow (to far away for shots). This juvenile red-tailed hawk was just a real thrill. Sat in the tree for a good 20 min then took off. All shots were taken in the car today.
