Cross Fox, Norris Point, Newfoundland Sept 2013
Cross Fox, which is a partially melanistic Red Fox. It's called a Cross Fox because the black line on back and across at shoulders forms a cross. There's a greater percentage in the population, the farther north you go. A fully melanistic Red Fox is called a Silver Fox - Thank you for the proper ID - Jean Iron and Ron Pittaway
Donna Mary and I saw this beautiful fox on our way to Norris Point, Newfoundland. It was on the side of the road. The Cross Fox is a juvenile. Beautiful young fox.
