Hooded Merganzer - what a duck Nov 14, 2010



Janice and I did a drive around this morning. Just before the rain hit we saw this beauty. He swam around, fished, and then rested. What an amazing duck.

Merganzers, Hawks and Ducks Nov 13, 2010


Carol feeding the blue jays, nuthatches and chick-a-dee. Now just before this shot someone asked me if Carol was my mom. It was a funny look that Carol gave Tim lol.

Northern Pintail. Lighting today was wonderful

male SharpShinned Hawk

Canada Goose with a huge tag on the neck. Send in the number on tag and received a certificate about goose. Born in 2000 or before and banded in Hudson's Bay.

The clouds were amazing today.

Carol and I went for a drive today. Went up and down back roads looking for some sign of birds, hawks and more. We did see some amazing landscapes, barns and a few birds. All photos by Carol. nicely done.

Red Shouldered Hawk - Nov 11, 2010


Incredible to see a Red Shouldered hawk up close. He soared and chased the Red-Tailed hawk.



The Red Tailed hawk was being chased by 3 crows.

Owl Banding Saw Whet Owl and a Barred sitting in the tree

Saw Whet Owl, female hatched this year. What a thrill to look at one closely. Thanks Nigel for a wonderful informative evening.

The Barred owl was deep in the branches. Luckily we saw him a couple of times. It seemed strange to take a photos using a flash light.

A Foggy Morning at my moms Nov 11, 12 2010


While at my moms we went for a drive. The fog settled in for the evening and the next day it was foggy till noon.
