A few shots of my friends Jen and Jeff. It got a little nuts taking photos of each other. For most of the morning on Dec 19 there was nothing to be seen so it came down to taking shots of each other. By the way it was soooooooooooo cold. Tears came to our eyes after 5 minutes.
Oh the last day of my holidays. I was on my way to my daughters when I saw a red tail hawk. Pulled over (I was on a back road) and decided to watch. He flew from the tree to a berm and a harrier comes flying behind him. I tried to get some shots but really they were too far away and I did not have the right settings. It was fascinating watching them. This is the time I wish I had a 500 F4 but honestly watching was just as good. The red tail landed on a post and the harrier kept attacking him. He just sat there and finally flew back in the same tree he started in.
The photos are very poor but hopefully you will capture what I saw.
Decided to try one more time to find the snowy owl. Well I had success. I was driving down the road and a man had stopped and was looking aroun so I asked him "have you seen the owl" and he says "its right above your head" did I move fast. These are not great shots as it was rain/snow and totally cloudy. I decided to put the talon shot up as it was all I could get when he decided to go. Thank you to the gentleman for showing me the owl. Enjoy
Today I decided to just take a drive about. Stopped at Halls Road first. 2 deer were in the bush on the side of the road. At Thicksons a nice kestrel, and finally at Highland Creek a surprise Great Blue Heron.
