A mix of photos - landscapes in Newfoundland Sept 2013
An assortment of the most beautiful landscape I have seen. More photos coming soon with more information on all the hikes and areas we visited.
Mink Family by the Cabin - Newfoundland Sept 2013
Donna and Christina decided to climb Gros Morne Summit 806 m. They successfully did it. Congratulations ladies. Mary was making home made pizza in the cabin while I decided to sit on the rock by the cabin and hope to see the gannet. While sitting on a rock I saw the mink come out of the water and jump from rock to rock. It was amazing - but a distance from me. Suddenly out of the corner of my eye came two baby mink chasing each other and play fighting. Too close but watched the antics. A series of shots.
A mix sparrows, warblers, osprey, surf scoters, and more Newfoundland 2013
A mix of photos from Cedar Waxwing, Osprey hunting by cabin, Surf Scoters (lifer), Warblers - Black and white, Black-throated Green, Blackpole, to Lincoln and White Throated Sparrows.
Northern Gannets from Newfoundlad - target bird found at cabin Sept 2013
I really wanted to see a Northern Gannet. Donna was looking out the window and said gannet. I grabbed my camera and ran. Yes we had 3 circling far over the water but you can clearly (well not so clearly) see the grey beak and the yellow patch at neck. For three days the gannets circled the bay. I have always wanted to see one. The funny part was I read some of the birding reports in Toronto and guess what sighting they had - yup a gannet.
