Coyote totally amazing Dec 4, 2010

John and I went for a short photo drive. The best part of the day was seeing the coyote. He was a healthy adult and just beautiful to see.

Can you imagine going scuba diving in the freezing cold. Well 4 braves souls did at Humber Bay. Too cold for me to even walk around for more than an hour.

Peter and I had a wonderful days outing at Port Credit, Sam Smith, Humber, Ashbridges Bay, Rosetta and more.

Peter and i saw many different types of ducks today. The highlight for me was the Northern Pintale.

Peter running ahead to check out what other birds were around the corner. He even ran to another side of a pond to try to get them to come my way. lol

We saw a total of 6 juv black crowned night herons


A young fox running around. Just in front of him were 2 cats. Neither seemed interested in each other.


3 Raccoons in a tree keeping each other warm. There were 2 more above them.

Female Hooded Merganzer - What a beauty

Peter and I went to see what is happening in the west end of town. The duck were amazing. Only a couple of shots to post tonight but more to come tomorrow. This little female hoodie was my bird of the day.

Hawks Hawks everywhere - total of 35 of them

We saw 25 Red-Tailed Hawks both adult and juvenile. One was extremely vocal. Other highlights of the day were red bellied woodpecker, 5 northern harriers plus more for 22 species day. Leslie and I both enjoyed the backroads and the beautiful sun.



Leslie and I were shocked to see a rough legged and red tail hawk sitting in the same tree. The Rough-Legged suddenly went after the red tail.

Our first sighting was a beautiful Rough Legged hawk. Over the course of the day we saw 5 of them. Most were actively hunting. Saw both dark and light morph.
