Flicker pair building a nest - May 5, 2013

I met Leo A today and we went for a hike down the back of his house in the ravine. Lots of birds flying and building. The highlight was this Flicker pair building a nest right where we were sitting. The male was busying digging the hole and the female joined him for a bit. Make sure you open the photos to see the shaving of wood flying. Thanks Leo a great morning.
